Dodgy Now

Some more Robyn? Well, why not indeed. After all, he's one of the few true living heirs tot the throne of Syd Barrett. And on top of that, he's often very funny, too. You can't go wrong with a song that starts with "Your mother is a journalist, your father is a creep, they make it in your bedroom when they think you're fast asleep..."

Robyn Hitchcock - Sounds Great When You're Dead

As I mentioned earlier, Hitchcock started his musical career in the legendary, always eccentric Soft Boys. You're nowhere without their A Can Of Bees and especially Underwater Moonlight albums, trust me. Here's a track from each.

One of my favourite Hitchcock lyrics is from 'Kingdom of Love'. 'I would ramble all through time and space, Just to have a butcher's at your face'. This is probably confusing for readers unfamiliar with Cockney rhyming slang, but the word 'butcher's' is short for 'butcher's hook', which in turn translates to 'look'. That's some kind of genius right there.
