Bonnie, Jack & P.G.

Arrived home last week to find three interesting new songs waiting for me. Let's start with the Bonnie Prince Billy one. Prolific as ever, the Louisville Lion just contributed to the cool song+stories project of Long Haul Productions. Mother Nature Kneels is a dreamy but intense beauty, inspired by a mysterious wave of small earthquakes in Faulkner County, Arkansas. Read all about its background here.

Meanwhile, Jack Oblivian - of Oblivians fame of course - will release a new album called Rat City in September. Here's the title track already, a typical piece of raw Memphis garage mayhem with a guitar sound to die for.

And last but not least, it's good to see that mr. Pat Gubler is at it again. Four years after the fine Slightly Sorry album, his band P.G. Six is back with a new collection of psychedelic folk songs called Starry Mind. Don't be shy and let the Fairporty taster January satisfy you.
