Take Flatland Boogie, from Human Remains (´96) for instance. A heavenly tune, featuring exquisite backing vocals by Lucinda Williams, who´s timing it just right. Richard Bowden´s fiddle is to die for, too. "Got Four Roses in a sack, and we ain´t lookin´ back tonight..." Sounds good to me.

This is great. So was your last Terry Allen post. He is definitely one of the most under-rated country artists. Way to spread the word.
Don't neglect Juarez, his early masterpiece, a true concept album. I like piano driven songwriters and Terry is among the best.
"Gimme a Ride to Heaven" is definitely a classic of his if you haven't heard it. Think it's on Smoking the Dummy.
Also, he did the soundtrack to a foreign film called Amerasia, and while that record is generally available, for the life of me I can't find the movie anywhere.
Ride To Heaven´s another goodie indeed. It´s on Bloodlines. Can´t help you with that movie either. All that comes up when you search for it is that it´s a little-seen film...
