Count The Stars

Just got the sad news that reggae legend Neville O'Riley Livingston, better known as Bunny Wailer, passed away yesterday at 73. The Blackheart Man was the last surviving co-founder of Jamaica's legendary (Wailing) Wailers: Bob Marley left us in 1981, Peter Tosh in '87. Miss him, my brethren.

Time To Dance

Finally managed to track down the second volume of Bunny Wailer's Solomonic singles compilations. Irie vibes all around. Because just like on part one, there's a lot of timeless treasure to be found on Rise & Shine. Better light that chalice now, my brethren.

Concept Of I

Neville O'Riley Livingston, better known as Bunny Wailer, is the only surviving member of the original Wailers, a dubious honor indeed. Not as well known by the public at large compared to Marley and Tosh, he's a reggae legend just the same. Cue a new collection of superb old singles released on his own Solomonic label, with songs that prove every inch as good as the material that ended up on his much lauded debut Blackheart Man, and that's saying something. There's a second volume out, too, but I haven't heard that one yet alas. Soon come.
