The ultimate nihilist anthem comes to you courtesy of poets extraordinaire Ed Sanders, Tuli Kupferberg and their merry Village pranksters. De nada, folks.
While I will admit that "Nothing" is a great song about nothing, I would direct anyone to to their 1968 album "Tenderness Junction" and the live track titled "Exorcising the Evil Spirits from the Pentagon Oct. 21, 1967" which features the band shouting "Out Demons Out" during an anti Vietnam war march outside said building. It has to be one of the greatest live gigs EVER! Oh, and their version of Matthew Arnold's poem "Dover Beach" on the same album is truly beautiful. And their 2nd 1968 release - an album wonderfully titled "It Crawled into My Hand, Honest" is worth buying, if only to hear the marvellous "Wide, Wide River" (aka "River Of Shit").
