In Your Pipe

"Smoke rings fill the air, blues is a-comin' my way..." Sick and tired of smoking guns, so how about a smoking six pack? Sooty sugar lump artwork - as usual - by Tinca. Bafflin' indeed, folks.

Joe Maphis - Dim Lights, Thick Smoke (And Loud, Loud Music)
David Wiffen - Smoke Rings
Lee Perry - Bafflin' Smoke Signal
Voice Of The Seven Thunders - Out Of The Smoke
Wooden Shjips - Black Smoke Rise
Kikagaku Moyo - Smoke And Mirrors

Inevitable smoky bonus tracks:

The Smoke - My Friend Jack
Lazy Smoke - There Was A Time

I was 16 (and a half) when I bought "My Friend Jack", because I loved the scuzzy guitar sound. Me and my pal Kenny knew the lyrics were all about LSD, so we could pretend to be hip and cool when we played it at parties. Didn't even make the top 40.

Guess it didn't make the top 40 as auntie Beeb suspected the acid link somehow... For shame.

Excellent selection as always. Many thanks.

Nothing by Smoke (Benjamin Smoke)??? Great Atlanta artist. You should run a bit on him anyway. Plus his other band Opal Foxx Quartet. Vastly underrated.
