Flow, My Tears





















From the only album ('67) the big man recorded for the famous Verve label, this is Roland Kirk - no Rahsaan to his name yet - playing the blues on tenor and two weird other kinds of saxes. Warms the heart, yes sir.

I love how Kirk flips so deftly from rawness to sophistication. I guess you've heard Blacknuss, probably my favourite. Three Kings is special too. You got an old guy reminiscing!
