I´ve omitted Debbie Harry by Family Fodder as I posted that one a few weeks ago already, and there´s no Alex Chilton by the Mats either as almost everybody and their dog had a sad reason to feature that beauty recently. ReplyDelete"Yoko Ono" from Ben Lee's recent album The Rebirth of Venus is wonderful. The deluxe version of the album also includes Ben's cover of a song by the Ataris called, yup, "Ben Lee", which was totally making fun of him so he's a heck of a good sport to cover it.

ReplyDeleteSomebody mentioned David Bowie's "Andy Warhol" but left off the other tribute(ish) song from Hunky Dory, the one that's actually to a musician.
ReplyDeleteSo I nominate Bowie's "Song for Bob Dylan." If nothing it has Bowie describing Dylan's voice as being "like sand and glue."
