Aren't you forgetting quite a few folks...Chris Hillman, for one, who was co-author of almost all of those songs folks like to attribute entirely to Gram. Then there's the other rockers who were dipping into country at the time - Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Rick Nelson, Gene Clark, Linda Ronstadt and more - even the Beatles were covering Buck Owens. Really, there were lots of folks. I'm taking nothing away from Gram, but he really didn't "invent" anything, he was just another rock musician trying to play what was then considered "country" music. And had he not been a junkie, he might still be around making music.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15508213796328847338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448885095667982281.post-34044710939118792112010-12-03T03:43:45.444+01:002010-12-03T03:43:45.444+01:00Wow, I didn't know that about the R&R Hall...Wow, I didn't know that about the R&R Hall, especially Gram, who pretty much invented country rock.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448885095667982281.post-31393849665186250522010-12-03T00:49:43.174+01:002010-12-03T00:49:43.174+01:00Nice little bit of trivia.Nice little bit of trivia.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00769803968585513437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448885095667982281.post-11186937972720138402010-12-02T22:09:02.782+01:002010-12-02T22:09:02.782+01:00Nope, it´s the Rock Hall that doesn´t admit a lot ...Nope, it´s the Rock Hall that doesn´t admit a lot of country singers: Cash is the only regular inductee; the other four mentioned are listed in the early influences category. No Willie, Waylon, or Merle present, nor Kris, Gram, or Townes... No George Jones either. A fool´s hall indeed.Ramone666https://www.blogger.com/profile/08399648428256486747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8448885095667982281.post-20775093622956917702010-12-02T21:46:47.158+01:002010-12-02T21:46:47.158+01:00Interesting!
